CRICKET NOTES.

TUAKAU v. MARAMARUA. ; WIN FOR TUAKAU. The Tuakau cricket eleven journeyed to Maramarua during the week-end to pJay Maramarua. which it defeated by 23 runs. It was the ••skipper's" (L. Johnson's) day out, he having the distinction of taking all of Maramarua wickets and scoring 00 runs. Fielding a weak team, with one man short, Tuakau lost the toss, hut by judicious tielding managed to dismiss its opponents for G 7 runs. By so doing, Tuakau showed its fielding ability, two men being clean-bowled and the remainder caught On taking the crease, Tuakau commenced badly, it losing the first four wickets for 15 runs. Johnson started to master the bowling of the home men. and by judicious scoring, coupled with careful play, monopolised the bowling to carry his side to victory. It was a sterling display of batsmanship. His score included five sixes and six fours. Details are:
