PLUNKET SOCIETY.
"BRING AND BUY" FUNCTION. A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT. A "bring and buy" afternoon was held in the Methodist hall on Thursday and was a great success, largely owing to the efforts of Mrs Alfred Willis and the committee. There was a very good attendance. Songs were given by Mrs W. Mollraith and Miss Verner Wishart. A good deal of amusement and interest centred in the various competitions. A lamb, donated by Mrs Bingley, was won by Mrs Turner and Mrs A. Willis. An ioe<d oake. donated by Mrs R. Willis was won by Miss Peggy Smitii, "Vy no re-donated it and it was sold for a tidy suiih- A cake donated by Mrs C. D. Earl, was won by Mrs. Q % Ross. A nightdress donated by Miss G. Harrowell, was won by Mrs (Dr.) G. W. Lock. A dressing jacket and cosy given by Mrs R. Willis, was won by Mrs Noel Johnson, who asked that the cosy be re-drawn and it was then won by Mrs Kernot. A box of sweets, given by Mrs E. A. Urquhart, was won by Miss Joan Naylor. A putting competition was won by Mrs McDonald, and the potato throwing was won by Mrs O'Gonnell.
