A PRESENTATION.
TO MR W. F. PORTER.
TENNIS CLUB'S APPRECIATION
In appreciation of the services of Mr W. F. Porter, as its secretary for the past three years, the Pukekohe Lawn Tennis Club tendered him a social on Tuesday evening in the Masonic hall. The Badminton club, which allowed the use of its night, gave tennis players exhibitions of the game. The tennis club was well represented.
In presenting the guest of honour with a tennis equipment bag, the president, Mr W. E. Richards, stated that when Mr Porter arrived in Pukekohe the club was in a state of transition as it was changing over to the new property, and under the guidance of the secretary the club was placed in a sound position. He extended best wishes for the future to Mr Porter.
In reply, Mr Porter said he had greatly enjoyed his stay in Pukekohe and expressed regret at leaving. He hoped to visit the district as often as possible and to take part in future tournaments.
Supper was served by the lady members.
