JOLLY EVENING AT TUAKAU.
FIRST OF SERIES ARRANGED
The first of a series of monthly so~ cials arranged by the Tuakau Anglican Ladies' Guild, was held in the Oddfellows' hall on Thursday evening and was signally successful. There was a large attendance of members of the congregation and their friends. The hall had been artistically decorated for the occasion.
Music for dancing was played by Mesdames Bush, P. Collins, Misses Holland, R. Bush, N. Finch, Messrs G. i Guncliffe, R. Finch and Kahn. Appre- ■ ciated vocal items were contributed j by Miss M. Fulton and Mr B. Daniels, ! and recitations by Miss M. Vaughan. | A number of old-time and novelty ! dances were arranged and were great'ly enjoyed. The winners were: ; "Runaway honeymoon," Miss R. Bush I and Mr McGlashan: Monte Carlo waltz, Miss E. Geraghty and Mr Mayenberg; 1 motor-car competition, Miss M. Ful- ' ton and Mr W. Barnaby. A mysterii ous parcel was passed around the hall, I eventually going to Miss R. Batkin, ' who is shortly to be married. Those • not taking part in dancing played ! bridge and five hundred. Mr L.
