The following report was given by the secretary:— "The season 1930-31 was officially opened in October. The weather was ideal and the function was most successful. Visitors were present from the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, the Eden and Epsom, Parnell, University and neighbouring clubs.
"The club again entered A and B teams in the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's outer suburban competitions. The A team was successfulin winning the championship and so again hold the Manukau shield. The B team suffered only two losses during the season and came a good second in their competition. Friendly matches were also played with Pukekohe, Tuakau, Waiuku and Te Hihi clubs. ' Two members of our A team, Messrs L. G. Watson and G. Hutchinson, entered in the Franklin championship tournament at Pukekohe during the Easter. Both players deserve congratulations on their showing. Mr L. G. Watson must be further congratulated on winning the Franklin junior championship. The tournament within our own club, was again held, but was only halfheartedly supported, and it seems "that the fixture is hardly worth while. "The competition in connection with the ladder was more than usually keen during the past season and I think all matches were played in a spirit of most friendly rivalry. "The courts were maintained in good condition during the past season while the grounds and fences were also kept in good repair. A wire netting fence was erected at the eastern end of No. 5 court and filled a long felt requirement.
• "During the season the club hecame incorporated. This was done as it was desired to enter into a lease with the ' Papakura Town Board for the site of the present courts. Negotiations in connection with .this proposal have now been concluded and the hoard have agreed to lease us the property. The lease now only requires the signature. * . . . "I wish to.place on record my appreciation of the services of our club captain, Mr G. F. McDonald. I. feel my duty would have been much more difficult had I been without his counsel and assistance. I also wish to make special mention of the good work undertaken by Mrs Pavitt in connection with Ihe afternoon tea arrangements.
In conclusion I wish to thank the members of the committee and all who assisted in the-'management of the club for co-operation during the season." The report was adopted.
