PROGRESS SINCE LAST WIEETSNG. COMMITTEE PRESENT REPORT. The works committee presented the following report to Monday evening's meeting' of J.he Papakura Town Board covering the period since the lasi meeting:— "Water works: A service was laid to a property in Clarke road, and a leak was repaired in the four inch main in Great. South Road. "General works: Repaired a crossing at the intersection of the Great South and Manse roads and constructed a crossing to allow access for Mi' H. T. B. Walker. At the intersection of Trentham road, cast iron pipes have been laid to dispose of stormwater and the crossing has been fdled up with scoria. Five chains of Bunnythorpe road have been metalled and four chains of blue metal have been spread on Short street to the width of 18 feet. The following streets have had attention by being patched with blue metal, Glevedon and Hun; highways, Onslow, road, Elliott street. Railway street east. Opaheke road arid Beach rjoari. Trimmed and laid metal on a portion of the footpath in Young's road. . Widened a crossing to a residence in Onslow road. Spoil removed from Great South Road was used to fill the low portion of Cole's Crescent. One chain of the road was metalled to the kerb, one chain of footpath formed and kerbed, a portion of the kerbing being given by the Church of England vestry.

"Grader work: The grader lias been used on Glevedon and Hunua highways, Beach road. Opaheke road. Dominion road. Marne road south. Railway street east and west, Onslow road. Wellington street and Green street. "Reserves: The following works have been carried out on reserves; On the Village Green the noxious weeds were cut and grubbed. At Young's Beach reserve noxious weeds have been cut and grubbed and the men have dug round the hedge troths that were planted on this reserve. One of the board's sections in Albert street has been cleared of noxious weeds. On Prince Kdwnr ! Park the thickest of the noxious weeds were cut and the isolated patches have be r Mi grubbed. Recommendations. "Union street: The committee lias favourably considered a suggestion of the reserves committee to construct a 30ft roadway from East street to Wood street, allowing a space of 18ft on each side of the road to provide for footpaths and also for a space .where tree planting may be carried out. The committee lias instructed the foi'ernan to report on this matter in .time for the next meeting of the board. . "Green street: The commil-tee recommend that a cesspit be placed it the corner of Green and King streets to dispose of Hood water and that the necessary formation work be carried out, to overcome the nuisance that ex-' ists at this point owing to the present bad formation of the road.
