Walau Landing Reserve.
In a report to- the Franklin County Council on -Monday, the blerk, -Mr Alan P. Day, stated that although tenders were invited-for the lease of the Waiau Landing Reserve, none was received. The farm superintendent of the. mental hospital, which" adjoins the reserve, asked for the land to clean and to sow down in grass for grazing. Cr. J. Henry said the land was one of the richest pieces in the district. Several people interested had evidently not seen the advertisement. The council decided to ascertain from the superintendent the period the land was required for;
