CALL TO MINISTER.
REV. R. E. SPEER FOR WAIROA.
APPRECIATION EXPRESSED
The Rev. R. E. Speer, 8.A.. of Waiuku. lias received a ’‘call” to St. Andrew’s church, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay. At the Auckland Presbytery last week, Ihe “call” was presented and supported by the Revs. G. Budd and J. H. Bredin. It was signed by 74 out of 112 members, and 40 adherents. A resolution from the Waiuku congregation, conveyed by the Rev. J. Pattison. expressed high appreciation of Air Speer's ministry- covering four years, but placed no obstacle in the way of his accepting the “call.” The Rev. Mr Speer decided to accept the invitation to Hawke’s Bay and the Rev. J. Pattison was appointed interim Aloderator of Waiuku. .
It is understood the new appointment will provide wider scope for Air Speer, who has done very fine work in the Western district. He has taken an active interest in the community life, and is deservedly- popular among all classes. Waiuku was Air Speer’s first charge in New Zealand, he having come from the North of Ireland where he had been pastor of an important charge.
