RUGBY FOOTBALL.

S. AUCKLAND v. AUCKLAND B.

TO-AIORROW’S ATTRACTION

For the next threg Saturdays Rugby enthusiasts will have ample opportunity of seeing the • game played in its true perspective, At Pukekohe tomorrow South Auckland will play Auckland B, and on the two following Saturdays the British team will appear at Auckland. To-morrow at the Pukekohe domain a good open game should be seen, with both sides throwing the hall about. The Aucklanders •' are formidable ■ opponents, and while the vfsitdrs-.should win, the South Auckland team should give a good account, of itself. A great deal, of course, depends on the ■ability of the South Auckland hookers to get the ball, and having won it •from the scrums, what the hacks will do with it. Aimless kicking will mean playing into the hands of the elusive Auckland backs, whose (Combination and speed should carry the day. If South Auckland desires to keep the

score down it should either, use the

line, or indulge in the ’passing game, with the main objective of keeping the ball away from the visitors. The South Auckland forwards should hold their own, led by two former Provincial representatives, Ben Keary and Ivan Cathcart. The home backs are solid rather than brilliant but should put up a good fight. So long as good football is provided, and an enjoyable game is played,' the result does not matter. Air J. Leslie, of Mercer, will referee the match.-

The curtain raiser will be provided by High School and Wesley College first fifteens which are playing off for the Pukekohe junior championship. A good gefrne is expected as school is out to.avenge the defeat inflicted by college in the first round game. Mr 11. Pleydell has been appointed referee.
