HAMILTON STOCK SALE.

PRIME QUALITY BEEP FIRM

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd., Hamilton, report: At the weekly stock market in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, we had an average yarding of fat cattle. All classes of prime beef met with keen competition and sold-at late rates. There was also a good demand for fat sheep, fat hoggets selling at increased prices.

We quote:— Fat bullocks, £l3 to £l4 2s 6d; medium fat bullocks, £ll 4s to £l2 10s; fat .cows, £9 15s to £ll 16s; medium fat cows, £8 7s 6d to £9 10s; light, £6 15s to £7 ,12s 6d; forward, £5 5s to £6 10s; store cows, £4 to £5 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, mixed colours, £3 5s to £5 8s; yearling steers, £3 11s.

Sheep: Prime fat wethers, 36s to 39s 6d; fat ewes, 28s to 30s 3d; fathoggets, 25s 6d to 275; ewes in lamb, I.Bs.

Pigs: Fat and store pigs were yarded In average numbers and sold readily at increased prices. Fat baconers averaged 7d per lb. while porkers averaged 6ld per lb. Heavy baconers, £4 to £4 6s; medium, £3 12s to £3 16s; light, £3 5s to £3 8s; heavy porkers, £2 14s to £3 Is; medium light porkers, £2 5s to £2 10s; good stores, 35s to £2 2s; slips, 25s to 31s; weaners, 12s to 225.

LONDON PRODUCE MARKETS. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week.

Butter: slow, 171 s to 172 s per owt. Cheese: White, 86s per cwt; coloured, 90s per cwt. Frozen meat: The market is weaker for light-weight wethers, and prices are likely to decline. There is a good demand for heavy-weights. The market for ewes is dull and there is litle business doing. The market is oversupplied with lambs and prices are affected in consequence. There is a fair demand for beef.
