MOVE IN CANADA.
MANY FIRMS ADOPT CHANGE
Rapid progress is being made in Canada writes a recent visitor to the Dominion, with the adoption by firms of the thirteen-month year, each month consisting of 28 days.
One of the first firms to introduce the system was the Anglo-Canadian Pulp and Paper Mills, Ltd., the undertaking established in Quebec by Viscount Rothermere.
Hundreds of corporations and banks are now adopting the system in Canada and the United States. The Canadian Manufacturers’ Association has endorsed the change and has sent resolutions in its favour to the Canadian Government and the League of Nations.
The division of live year into twelve months of unequal length causes Inconvenience and waste in business. Bookkeeping is simplified by the introduction of four weeks to the month, and there is saving of time and labour. Firms who have adopted the system express satisfaction with it from every point of view.
