THE KARAKA RIDING.
MR W. BATTY NOT A CANDIDATE
REQUEST TO MR R. URQUHART
At a meeting of Karaka Ratepayers’ notification was received that Mr W. Batty would not be able to contest the Karaka riding seat for a further terra. Regret at Mr Batty’s decision and appreciation of bis services during the last three years, was expressed and the meeting unanimously requested Mr R. Urquhart to allow himself to be nominated. Mr Urquhart has been identified with the district all his life and his consent has. given the liveliest satisfaction.
