PATUMAHOE NEWS.
TENNIS DANCE. WELL ATTENDED FUNCTION. (Own Correspondent). The local club held a dance in Patumahoe hall on Tuesday last. It was patronised by a number of visitors from surrounding districts . The dance was a success in every way and a substantial sum was added to the funds of the club.
I During the evening a bean guessing ! competition was held—the prize being a handsomely worked tray cloth donated by Mrs Parris. The winner was Miss E. Thorn. Two spot waltzes for prizes donated by Miss Irwin and Mr R. Irwin were won by Mr Flavell and Miss Cuff, and Mr W. Pleydell and Miss Hay. Music was provided by the Black Cat Orchestra, and extras were played by Mrs Torkar and Mr Brown. Messrs M. Irwin and K. Syme acted as M.C.s. A dainty supper of home made cooking was partaken just before midnight, and a most enjoyable evening concluded at 1.30 p.m. by the playing of the Notional Anthem.
