MAINTENANCE CASE.

VOUTH TO PAY UP. A youth was proceeded against at Monday’s sitting of the Papakura Magistrate’s Court for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. It was gleaned that defendant earned at the rate of £122 per annum, which, after deductions for superannuation, life insurance and hoard, left him 16/per week, lie would he receiving an increase of £IH a year at the end of September. The Papakura Town Board decided at Monday’s meeting to erect additional street lights at the following places:—Corner of Marne Road and Alexander Street, Coles Crescent and East Street, Queen, and Green Streets., : West and Wellington Streets, Wood and Union Streets, Railway Street West and Onslow Road, Victoria Street East and Railway Street, Great South Road near the school, and two in e 4 ach of Settlement Road and the southern por-: lion of the Great South Road. ' Damage by Stock. Reference to the unrestrained' A damage being done by stock, as the result of being driven along the Great South Road and. various footpaths- . throughout the town, was made at Monday’s meeting of the Papakura Town Board by Mr. H. E, McEntee. Subsequently he gave notice of his intention to move at. the next meeting that the by-law be amended in order to exclude stock from being driven along the northern end of the Great South Road, the route to be fixed being via Valley Road. r .
