CONCERT.
“HUIA” GIRLS’ ENTERTAINMENT. IN AID OF JASPER GALDER’S FUND. (Own Correspondent.) PAPAKURA, Monday. A crowded gathering' was present in the Parish Hall on Friday eveninglast, when the members of the Papakura Girls’ “Huia” Club repeated their performance of the comedy play, “The Kleptomaniac.” They were supported by several local artists. The entertainment'was an effort on the part,of the “Huia” girls to . augment Jasper Calder’s unemployment fund, and it is gratifying to record a splendid response on the part of the residents of Papakura for such a worthy object. “The Kleptomaniac” wafe staged in the second half of the programme, and once again demonstrated to their auditors what a clever and capable band of young ladies they. are. A special word of praise is due to Mrs. G. W. O’Connell for the way she has prepared the' girls for their respective parts. The following ladies and gentlemen contributed to the programme:—Mrs. (Dr.) Mcßae, Mrs. W. Mollraith, Miss Ivy Turner, Messrs. Beechey. Seaton, O’Neill and F. Walker. A very enjoyable dance followed, al which Mr. P. Hardman kindly supplied the music. .
