NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION* OF SPECIAL ORDER MAKING DUNEDIN CITY BY-LAW No. 40, 1947 (IN RESPECT OF THE CITY ABATTOIR)., PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dunedin City Council, at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose and held on Monday, the 28th day of July, 1947, passed. the following Resolution—viz:— That the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order,-pursuant to the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporation's Act, 1933, and of air and every other power- in that behalf enabling it, to make a by-law to be known as the Dtnedin City By-law No. 40, 1947.” The object and purport of the proposed by-law is as follows : To repeal Section 3 of the " Dunedin City By-law No. 38- (in respect of the City Abattoir), 1945,” and to substitute therefor the following amended scale of Abattoir Charges—viz:— . (a) For, Large Cattle and Calves over 2501 b dressed weight: Slaughtering Use of Abattoir ; Housing - and fodder (per week or part of week, if required) ... For Sheep and Lambs by the Kosher method, the slaughtering charges only shall be double the rates set out above.' (i) In addition-to the-above'charges, every ■person, on whose account any stock is - slaughtered at the Abattoir shall pay , to the City Treasurer inspection fees as may be fixed from time .to time by regulations duly made: and gazetted in that behalf. (j) Every person on whose- account stock 'V' is-slaughtered at the /Abattoir on any of 'the following days—viz., Saturday, ;. Sunday, New Year’s. Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, the Sove- , reign’s-Birthday, Labour . Day, Christ- ' mas Day, aqd Boxing Day, shall pay double the slaughtering charges prescribed in the preceding sub-sections (a), (b), (c). (d), (e), and (f). AND NOTICE IS HEREBJY.
