'OUR MISS GIBBS'

Lionel Monckton lias written some fine melodies in many famous musical comedies, and in this respect his ‘ Our Miss Gibbs ’ is no exception. Some of the highlights in the song hits it contains are ‘ Mary,’ ‘ Moonstruck,’ ■ Arms and the Man,’ and ‘.Romance.’ These songs and others will be performed by some excellent soloists with the backing of mixed choruses in the Operatic Society’s forthcoming production. The show is brimful of comedy, and there are delightful ballets and magnificent settings throughput. The big cast of principals includes Kay Mutineer, in the leading role, Gordon Sutherland, Gwenda Burt, Noeline Moody, Sybil Henderson, Bernard Sullivan, Anthony Spears, Cecil Leopold, Mark Gaston, Harold Davidsoh, and Edna Lungley. Special features include some delightful songs by “ The Three Irish Girls,” Nellie McLaren, Kathleen Goughian, and Mollie McMillan, the Chorus of Dudes, comprising a sextet of clever male vocalists, and some, delightful solo dance work by Ngila Slowley and Billy Shaw. Anita Oliver is the producer and James Clark the musical director.
