U.S.A. AGREEMENT WITH AUSTRIA FOR RELIEF SUPPLIES
(Rec. 9 a.m) WASHINGTON, June 25. The United States and Austria today concluded an agreement guaranteeing that relief supplied by America under the 350,000,000 dollar programme of aid to Europe will be fairly distributed . among the Austrian population without discrimination on the ground of race, creed, political party, or belief, Under the threat of a complete halt in the flow of supplies the Austrian Government may not allow either those supplies or similar commodities to be exported or used in maintaining the armed forces of any occupying Power. In the case of the Austrian armed forces, the supplies must not be used in excessive amounts. The agreement is the first of a series to be concluded with all countries due to receive aid from the United States under the post-Unrra programme.
