(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 26. That a reward of £I,OOO should bo offered for information leading to the conviction of sheep stealers was made by the wool and meat section of the jNew Zealand Federated Farmers. Delegates to the conference discussed cases of sheep stealing in Southland, Wairarapa, and Waikato. A suggestion that the reward should be paid by the Wool aud Meat’Board was amended to a request to ask the Government to pay for information. However, delegates considered it unlikely that the Government would offer the amount suggested, as the reward for information leading to, the conviction of a murderer is only £SOO. It was agreed that the Government should be asked to increase the penalty on those convicted of sheen stealing. '
