UNPROCURABLE SCHOOL BOOKS.
Sir, —On June 16 my son and the rest of his class were asked to procure ‘ Progressive Reader, sth Primer. ’ I tried several shops in the city and in Dunedin South, but was informed that this book has not been published for over nine to 12 months. I do not blame the teacher for carrying out his or her instructions, but I do blame the proper authorities for not seeing that school .books are in the shops when they are required by children. I have been teaching my son the same thing in his old book for a week. No wonder ho doesn’t wish to go over these same lessons night in. and night out.— l am, etc., A Father. June 23.
