CRACK SOCCER PLAYER DECLINES TRANSFER FOR RECORD FEE
((Rec. 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 16. Willie Steel, the Scottish international inside left, for whom the Liverpool Association Football Club offered the Morton Club the record transfer fee of £15,000, declined to sign up with the Liverpool Club. Liverpool’s manager, following an interview with Steel, stated that the club had withdrawn the offer.
