SILENT GERMANS WATCH DUKE'S ARRIVAL
(Rec. 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, May 16
Thousands of silent Germans lined the streets of rubble in Osnabruek to watch the Duke of Gloucester drive through the town to the barracks. There were military police at all intersections. The Duke inspected the British battalion and left by air for Dusseldorf.
