CONTINUANCE OF EGG SUBSIDY ANNOUNCED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 17. The Government had decided to approve of the continuance of the subsidy on all eggs passing through Jhe official floors for a further 12 months, ending June 30, 1948, said Mr J. W. McGlinchy, chairman of the New Zealand Poultry Board, to-day. Mr McGlinch.v urged all poultry farmers to support organised market-' ing by forwarding the maximum quantities of eggs to the official floors, thereby enabling a more- equitable distribution. He said there had been a tendency among some poultry farmers to increase their gate sales, because of no announcement that the 4d a dozen subsidy would be continued.
