SOUTHLAND WINS SHIELD (Special.) WELLINGTON, April 29. fn the Meat Producers Board’s annual lamb competition, which is finally judged in London, the Eastern Southland group of lambs, comprising seven pens totalling 21 lambs, was adjudged the best group from the South Island and awarded the South Island Shield For the best individual pens entered from the South Island, Mr A. Cuthbertson. North Otago, was placed first. Mr R. T. Lambie, North Canterbury, second, and Mrs G. G. Rich. South Canterbury, third. A full report from the London judges is awaited, when it is expected more details of individual pens in the shieldwinning group will be given.
