CEMENT DUMPING DENIED.
STOP PRESS
The allegation that cement at the Tarakohe works was being dumped in the sea because of difficulty in carting it away was emphatically denied to-day by Mr J. H. Jennings, manager of the Golden Bay Cement Company. “ The allegation has absolutely no foundation. We would not he so mad,” said Mr Jennings. “It is correct that we have very full stocks—thousands of tons—we would like to get rid of, but till we get more rapid shipping wo cannot do more than we are doing now to clear the stocks.” Mr Jen* nings added that the plant was not working short time.—Nelson Press Association.
