INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC
RAGING IN SAMOA APIA, April 27. An epidemic of respiratory influenza in a mild form has been raging in Upolu and Savaii for two weeks. It began on April 15, and spread rapidly through thevvillages. The duration of the sicknes§\is three to seven days. There have beefi no deaths so far. Schools have been”,closed until May 12. The scarcity of 'labour has delayed the discharging arid, ; loading of the Matua, and the banana .shipment has been considerably, reduced. It is estimated that over 60 per cent, of Samoans have beerifaffected. The epidemic is reported to be abating. : .
