NEWS FOR SMOKERS
I SUPPLIES NEXT WEEK One of the worst cigarette famines to occur in Dunedin will be Believed early next week, when limited stocks will again be available. The local tobacco trade was advised to-day that a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco left Wellington yesterday on the Holmdale, which is due in Dunedin to-morrow. It is not jsxpected, however, that the sup--pliektrnll be in 'the'trefeil shops before next Monday at the earliest. The shortage has been caused by lack of shipping between Dunedin and Wellington. Despite all the efforts on the part of the manufacturers, no shipping space has been available since the end of March, and the stocks which will be released next week should have been here three-weeks ago.
