ZAMBESI ISLANDS
NAMED AFTER PRINGESSES ROYAL FAMILY TOUR THE RAND (Rec. 11 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, April 2. The King has approved the naming of two islands in the Zabbesi River, between Northern and Southern Rhodesia, after Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. The islands are a few miles above Victoria Falls. The Royal Family will see them when they cross by launch from Southern to Northern Rhodesia on April 10. The Queen had to repulse a shouting native with her umbrella, of which she lost hold when he jumped on to the running board of the Royal car as it was approaching Benoni during to-day’s tour of the . Rand mines. Dressed in sacking, with photographs hung about him, he shouted: “ I want to speak to my King.” The police detained him. Marius Johnson (76), who expects to die at any moment, last night polished his campaign medals, dating from the Matabele wars of 1896-97 to World War 11. He left his home in a wheel chair at" 6 a.m. to-day to join the 500,000 who watched the Royal Family’s tour of the Rand. He had two injections to maintain his strength. Later he told the King .he had not yet received his Coronation medal. “ You are a great warrior,” said the King, who promised a medal would he sent to him. '
