MOSGIEL TRAIN SERVICE.

' ; ’ TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Being a constant train traveller on the Dunedin-Mosgiel section of our railway, I have' been amazed at the delays and hold-ups experienced during ' the past few ' weeks, especially ‘as affects, the 5.15 p.m. Mosgiel train. Last night' we experienced another 15‘ minutes hold-up waiting for tlie.express to depart. The passengers, think - it is stupid on; the part of the railway officials to hold this train back when it could be despatched on time, haying .15 minutes start on the express, and arrive in Mosgiel in ample time' to allow the express to go .through to Invercargill. These delays-are 'very annoying and irritating to the many workers who travel home by this train? They also make it impossible for ydiing people to have sufficient time to get a hurried tea. and catch the next train back to the City to attend Technical and other classes. .Hoping for a more speedy and prompt despatch for • the , future.—T a in. etc., ' 5.15. "• March 27. : ]- [The above complaint, .was. referred to the rajiway ahthorities, who state that the express would have been further delayed if the 5.15 1 p.m; train for Mosgiel had been despatched on time. Having- regard to the import-, anco of the through express this latter was. given preference.—Ed.,‘E.S.] _
