Strong Fields Carded For Two Open Races At Beaumont Meeting

------ af The Beaumont Racing Club’s annual meeting will open on Saturday and the second day will be held on Monday. Being the nearest meeting to Dunedin over the Easter holidays, this fixture has always proved popular among local racegoers, and a large number are likely to make the trip this year. A pleasing feature of the card is the strength of the fields in the two open races. It is not unusual for these races to dwindle to about three or four starters at country fixtures, but the Beaumont meeting promises to be an exception as eight horses are carded for the Easter Handicap and TO for the Stewards’ Handicap. The Beaumont track is reported to be in excellent order this year, and if favoured by fine weather the‘club may have a record meeting.
