ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
LOCO. DRIVER KILLED. An electric locomotive driver, Leonard Walter Corrigan, was fatally injured at Kaitoke about 12.45 p.m. yesterday. He was crushed between a locomotive ancl an air compressor at the entrance to No. 2 tunnel at the Wellington waterworks construction undertaking. He received serious injuries to the chest, and was dead; when a doctor arrived. He is believed to be a single man. about middle age. : ’ STRUCK BY CARGO SLING. As the result of being knocked ,off a lorry on the 'Dunedin wharves by a cargo sling, David Nichol, a middle-aged man, residing -at 46 Stafford 'street, was admitted to hospital. at 3.45 p.m. : yesterday with a probable skull fracture. His condition to-day was unchanged.
