NUREMBERG TRIALS
TURN OF LEGAL LIGHTS •* UNHOLY MASQUERADE " ALLEGED (Rec. noon.) NUREMBERG, Mar. 5. The trial has been opened before the United States military tribunal of 15 Nazi judges and ' lawyers accused of displaying political and racial prejudice in their judicial activities, and thereby being responsible for murders and atrocities. There are additional charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. • The principal accused is elderly Franz Schlegelberger, Acting Minister of Justice from 1942, and previously Secretary of State to the Ministry of justice. Two of the accused, formerly sat in the Ministry of Justice, where they are now being tried. The (prosecutor, Brigadier-general Telford Taylor, described the accused’s activities as “ an unholy masquerade.”
