CONSIDERATION BY U.N.O.
SPEED-UP METHOD BEING SOUGHT
(Rec. 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 4. United Nations officials are endeavouring to find a way of expediting discussion of the Palestine question, and avoiding the expense of a special meeting of the General Assembly, which it is estimated might cost 1,000,000 dollars. Trygve Lie, SecretaryGeneral, yesterday sounded out delegations on the creation of some kind of special committee to explore the Palestine question during the summer, and report its conclusions to the Assembly at the next meeting in September, but no definite arrangements ' can be made until Britain submits the issue to the United Nations.
