COPPER PRICES RISE
SHORTAGE IN U.S. PREDICTED
(Itec. 8 a.m.) .NEW YORK, March 4. Copper climbed to its highest quotation since 1929. when the price rose by one cent to 21J cents a lb. Lead rose by one cent to 15 cents a lb, making a two cents increase in a week. The president of the Revere Copiier and Brass Incorporated, Mr C. 1). Dallas, predieted that there would he a copper famine, resulting in the reduction or cessation of production in many vital industries within a month, unless immediate action was taken to expedite the importation of foreign copper.
