DELEGATES RETURN FROM PACIFIC CONFERENCE ; AGREEMENT REACHED GH STANDARDISATION (P.A.) AUCKLAND. Feb. 17. Three of the delegates representing New Zealand air route operators returned to-day by the Tasman flying boat from Australia, where they had been attending a meeting of the Pacific Council of the Provisional International Civil Aviation Conference at Melbourne. They were Mr A. (1. Gerrand, operations manager of New Zealand National Airways, Mr H. C. Walker, training supervisor, and' Squadron-leader M. L. Pirie, representing the Royal New ’Zealand Air Force. - Mr Gerrand- said that the nations represented had reached a complete agreement on all technical questions such as the standardisation of methods of flying control and other facilities. Minimum requirements, were laid down for the equipment of aerodromes, and the future development of two aerodromes in Fiji at Mandi and Naussori were discussed. News of the final arrangements regarding the future of these two aerodromes, which have become the responsibility of the New Zealand Government, would be brought by Mr J. M. Biickeridge, actting controller of civil aviation, who would arrive back in about a week, he added.

Mr Gerrand denied that the party had been inspecting aircraft in .Australia with a view to further purchases by the Dominion Government.
