OLD BOYS’ SOCIETY A meeting of the' Otago High School Old Boys' Society was held on Thursday evening, wlieu there were present Messrs T. K. S. Sidey (in the chan), A. J. Gillman, W. F.'Watters, W. E. Mac Lean, W. Long, J. C. H. Somerville, L. T Bruce, J. A. Douglas, J. M. Moodie, A. K. lbbotson,, M. L. Bellugue, W. J. Mclunes, and H, Harvey. The President referred to the deaths of the following old boys:—Mr S. A. Anderson, the Very Rev. Adam Begg, Messrs A.' M. Cassio. T. T. Sarnies, the Itev. A. B. Kilroy, C. J. Shaw, H. F. S. Key, It. V. Taine, T. Tyrrell, J. J. Wain, W. .C. Wynne, W. L. Millie, J. G. Paterson, and J. F. Herbert, and he moved that messages ol sympathy be sent to their relatives.— Carried. A number of letters were received thanking the committee for messages sent in connection with recent bereavements.
Mr T. O’Shea, who attended the meeting on behalf of the Old Boys’ Cricket Club, mentioned that the Old Boys’ Cricket Club asked if the society could assist in an effort to obtain a coach for members of the club and the boys at the school. It was rcsoh’ed to appoint a sub-committee consisting of Messrs R. W. S. Botting, A. K. lbbotson, L.tT. Bruce, J..A. Smith, and I. Turnbull to confer with the Old Boys’ Cricket Club. Mr J. A. Smith pointed out the necessity of proper drainage at the Littlebourne ground, and reported that arrangements were being made to hold a reunion of old boys on March 15.
The President suggested the formation of a Parents’ Association, and the president and Mr Somerville were appointed to discuss the proposal with the rector.
