ROYALTY’S UNION TOUR
PERSONAL PREPARATIONS EXPECTED TO EMBARK ON JANUARY 31 (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 8 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. When the King and Queen and the Princesses return to London from Sandringham, they will begin an intensive period of preparation for their visit to South Africa. It is expected that they will embark on the Vanguard on the evening of January 31. One of the chief concerns of the Queen and the Princesses will be their wardrobes. They have already made a journey to London from Norfolk to see their clothes. Some intimate details of the Royal Family’s food dislikes were given by the chef who has accompanied them on many tours. He says they have simpler dishes and are easier to please than most travellers. He said that th<j. King disliked mushrooms and that Princess Elizabeth always liked jelly on the menu. At breakfast the King always had a small omelette cooked with eggs from his own farms, the Queen never wanted anything cooked, but the Princesses “ ate anything going.”-
