ANOTHER STORM IN SYDNEY FLATS AND HOMES UNROOFED l (Rec. 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 7. Further widespread damage w.as done to Sydney and the eastern suburbs by a hail, rain, and windstorm lasting for three-quarters of an hour. . A block of flats at Maroubra was unroofed, and, thousands of homes in Bondi, Rose Bay, and Vaucluse, the roofs of which were damaged by hail on New Year’s Eve, were flooded, while tram and trolley bus services were disrupted. , A launch in Botany Bay was swamped, and its five occupants were saved by fishermen. , . Hundreds of windows in the southwestern suburbs were smashed, and plateglass windows and roofs were damaged by wind.' Small fires occurred When lightning struck Neon signs in the city.
