PRESS SPECULATES
AUSTRALIAN GOVERNORSHIP N.S.W. PREMIER SUGGESTED SYDNEY, November 21. Both Sydney evening papers indicate to-day that the Premier of New South Wales, Mr W. J. McKell, may be the next Governor-General of Australia. The ‘ Sun ’ says that present plans are that he should lead the Labour Party at the State elections and then resign to assume vice-regal office. The ‘ Sun ’ adds that quiet moves on the appointment have been taking place behind the scenes for some time, but tho proposal will not be re-, ceived with complete .endorsement by Labour supportersThe ‘ Mirror ’ says that opinion in the State lobbies is that this suggestion has been deliberately concocted to embarrass the Labour Party’s chances at the State elections next May. When interviewed to-day, Mr McKell said; “The Press is always speculating about my future, and I have no comment to make on these speculations.”-
