. MR GANDHI IN RIOT AREAS NEW EXPERIMENT IN NON-VIOLENCE (Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 21._ Mr Gandhi’s followers were all ia tears as he left Kazirkhil, in Eastern Bengal, for Srirampur, a village which has been devastated by riots, says Reuter’s Calcutta correspondent. Moslems are in the majority in Srirampur. Mr Gandhi has no guard against the rioters. He announced that he was making a new experiment in the technique of non-violence in an effort to bring peace from radical hatreds. “ I am convinced,” he said, “ that so long as God wants my service in my present body he will keep me from all harm. All Mr Gandhi’s followers in Kazirkhil will follow him singly or in small groups, and will live in other Moslem villages in East Bengal. Mr Gandhi said he did not propose to leave East Bengal until he waa satisfied that mutual trust had been established between Hindus and Moslems. He added that without this only slavery awaited an India torn by strife.
