ORKNEY AND SHETLAND SOCIETY
'•LADIES' NIGHT" FUNCTION
A Ladies’ Night ” was conducted by the Orkney and Shetland Society on Saturday night, and consisted of a dance and a concert. The following were the items Songs: ‘Tales of Vienna Woods 1 and ‘ Gianina Mia,' Heather and Joan Douglas; ‘ Bonnie Wee Thing ’ and ‘ Coming Through the Rye,’ Louise Downing; ‘My Hero ’ and ‘ A star Fell From Heaven,’ Hester Brpugh; ‘ Road to the Isles ’ and ‘ Auld Lang Syne,' Mr Arthur Macdonald. The winners of the “ Movie Waltz ” were Mrs Poison and Mr Phillips. Music was supplied by Mr Hargreaves and Mrs Neil Johnston, and Mr Ken Christenson was the piper. Mr W. Stevenson thanked the performers, and also welcomed the following visitors:—Mr Stewart, secretary of the Wellington Shetland Society, and Mr J. Borwick, of Dipton, Southland. Miss H. Stevenson was the M.C. for the evening
