“ I notice that one, of your members of Parliament was’ laughed at for suggesting that houses be built of mud and straw.. I thing that was a sensible suggestion. Mud and straw houses are both warm and quite clean, and are certainly better than nothing,” said Mr Peter-Dawson, eminent Australian baritone, in Palmerston North. It had been a common sight in Australia, said Mr Dawsori, and there was certainly no lack of material for the job.
