DEEP WATER BOMB TEST
INDEFINITE POSTPONEMENT ANNOUNCED WASHINGTON, September 7. President Truman has postponed indefinitely the third atomic bomb test, which had been planned for deep water at Bikini in 1947. A White House statement said that in view of the successful completion of the first two tests, the joint. Chiefs of Staff considered the third should not be conducted in the near future, as the information already obtained, would enable scientific and military experts to make a proper evaluation of the atomic weapon.
