N.Z. DELEGATE'S IMPRESSIONS TO REPORT TO AUTHORITIES (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) LONDON, August 19. When he returns to New Zealand ■early next month, Mr C. G. White, of Wellington, who lias been representing Corso (Council of Organisation for Relief Service Overseas) in New Zealand at the plenary Unrra conference in Geneva, , will make immediate recommendations regarding tho future co-operation of Corso with Unrra. Mr White stated that as a result of what he leared at Geneva and during his visit to Great Britain he had arrived at definite conclusions about the work of Unrra, but he felt that he should not make these public until he consulted the New Zealand authorities. While in'Geneva Mr White also attended the advisory conference betweeu representatives of national lied Cross societies and the International Red Cross Committee. This conference followed immediately after the meeting of the Board of Governors of the ; League of Red Cross Societies, held at Oxford, which Mr White also, attended as the New Zealand delegate. The decisions of both conferences will be embodied in recommendations to be submitted to the congress of the'lnternational Red Cross, which will be held at Stockholm in 1948. As the result of these recommendations, it is probable that af number of alterations will, be made 1 tb the. Geneva ..Convention, particularly with regard to the treatment of prisoners of war and the protection of civilians. Mr White, who is chairman of Tasman Empire Airways, is returning to the Dominion"in the New Zealand, the, third of the Short Sandringham flying boats recently constructed for the company at Belfast. This aircraft was to have left for New Zealand a fortnight ago, but has been delayed by a strike at the works. Among the other passengers on the flying, boat will be Mr and Mrs F. 11. Picot.
