FRUIT FOR BRITAIN
PRIVATE ENTERPRISE CHARTERS PLANES LONDON, July 18. In order to supplement British fruit supplies, a private London firm has chartered six old Halifax bombers, which will be used in flying fruit to Britain from Africa and Europe. Each plane will carry 7Jtons of fruit, and the service will operate at least oiipe daily to any country where fruit supplies are available.
