ATTEMPT ON RECORD
ENGLAND TO NEW ZEALAND LANCASTER FLIGHT IN AUGUST (Reo. 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. An R.A.F. Lancaster Aries will make an attempt •on the England to New Zealand record in August. The R.A;F.'s Empire School of Navigation at Shrewsbury is arranging the flight as a training mission, also for purposes of liaison with the dominion air forces. The flight-will be made in .three hops with only two hour stops at Bombay and Darwin for refuelling. The destination will be Ohakea, near Wellington. , . The present record is 70 hours 45 minutes, which an R.A.F. Transport Command Lancastrian established in March. An Aries in January broke the record between Britain and. South Africa on a similar mission.
