BANK STRIKE IN BELFAST
MAY SPREAD TO EIRE (ißec. noon.) LONDON. July 19. The 1,500 striking bank officials at Belfast unanimously decided to reject a plan for a negotiating committee with three independent members, and refused to return to work, reports the 'Daily Mail's' Belfast correspondent The banks were closed to-day. and had this not been a holiday week in Belfast big concerns like ship yards, mills, and factories would have been unable to get sufficient cash to pay their workers. The correspondent adds that ..the strike may spread to Eire next week
