WOMEN'S HOCKEY
SEASON OPENS NEXT WEEK A special meeting of the Otago Women's Hockey Association was held on Tuesday to discuss grounds for the coming season and also the erection and maintenance of goal posts. It was decided to accept a tender for the erection of new goal posts. The committee approved the renting of six grounds on the Oval and three at Logan Park. Permission was granted the Training College Women's Hockey Club to use the grounds at Logan Par.k on Thursday afternoons for practices and for a match to be played to-morrow. A letter was received from the Mayor (Mr D. C. Cameron) accepting the office of patron to the association. Advice was received from the Otago Hockey Umpires' Association that Mr J. Leith.had been re-elected delegate to the Women's Association. Miss A. Hunter was granted a transfer from Dunedin to Kings. Players transferring from Glenross to Otago were granted their transfers pending clearances being obtained from their old club. Two new clubs, Opoho and St. Hilda's College, were granted affiliation. The opening day was set down for May 4, entries to be lodged with the secretary on April 29.
