INVASION OF SPAIN
SECRET SOVIET-FRANCE AGREEMENT MADRID RADIO ASSERTION LONDON. April 16. " There exists a secret agreement between Russia and France which threatens to lead to the invasion of Spain," declared Madrid radio to-day. " The Spanish Republican Government in Fraifce is at present preparing military intervention by means of frontier incidents in the Pyrenees. The Russians, once an incident is provoked, will come to the assistance of tho Allies, marching through Franco from the German and Austrian zone* of occupation. A Russian woman heada the Paris organisation which is preparing tho attack against Spam." added the radio. , The Spanish Government has formally invited Britain, America, Holland. Brazil, and Egypt to send technical commissions to Spain, says Renter's Madrid correspondent. The invitation has been issued " to prove the falsity of the Polish charges that German scientists were conducting atomic research in Spain."
