THORHE SMITH'S NOVELS ON SALE FOR MANY YEARS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 17. The New Zealand Customs Department lias no intention of banning Thome Smith's novels, ' Night Life of the Gods ' and 'Topper Takes a Trip,' or Vivian Connel's ' Chinese Eoom,' as has been done in Australia. These two Thome Smith novels, with other similar ones by the same author, have been on sale in New Zealand for many years. The Customs Department said: " We do not intend to worry about them after that length of time."
